What supports an investment assessment?

Planned zero-emission bus services

400 buses

World Bank project approved June 2025; delivery not confirmed here

The Clean Air Project includes bus services and charging depots. The appraisal distinguishes an asset company procuring vehicles from franchise operators delivering services. Follow actual procurement notices before treating this as a sales pipeline.

No named foreign-owned operating company has been established for this specific activity in this review. The policy or project references support a research direction; they do not prove an existing foreign-investor base.

Mingdao analysis

Who would buy, and how would you serve them?

Transport authorities, fleet operators and asset companies implementing a specified procurement programme.

  1. Vehicle supply through procurement
  2. Depot charging and electrical works
  3. Maintenance and fleet operations

The opportunity becomes actionable when a customer need, a feasible delivery model and a tested cost base come together. Existing companies indicate activity, not automatic access to their orders.

  • Separate AssetCo procurement from franchise operations.
  • Confirm tender notices, financing and charging-site approvals.

Provide target customers, intended business model, current evidence and assumptions. Include tender qualification, route energy use, charger/bus availability, whole-life operating cost in the assessment.

Which country links are evidenced here?

No country is assigned merely because it has a strong global industry. A Bangladesh company, trade, project or other relevant source is needed before adding that connection.

Source documents and further reading.

Read the observation date and evidence status with each source. Company disclosures are attributed to the issuer. A reference to a policy is not a representation that a specific project qualifies for a benefit.

Foreign ownership in Bangladesh

Build a business you can fully own.

100% foreign ownership
Available in eligible sectors

100% foreign ownership is permitted in most sectors in Bangladesh. An eligible business can establish a wholly foreign-owned company without a local equity partner.

Eligibility depends on the business activity. Reserved or restricted activities, sector-specific ownership rules, licences and regulatory approvals must be checked before incorporation or investment.

Do I need a local shareholder?

For an activity eligible for wholly foreign-owned incorporation, a local equity partner is not generally required. The proposed activities and applicable sector rules must be reviewed first. Ownership eligibility does not replace company registration, operating licences or other required approvals.
