Market Research & Investment Advisory

Mingdao Advisory helps businesses assess Bangladesh markets, sectors and commercial opportunities through research and analysis.

Who this service is for

Investors and business teams assessing a sector, customer segment, competitor landscape or market entry decision.

What the engagement aims to achieve

Evidence and analysis organized around a defined commercial or investment decision, with sources, assumptions and limitations made clear.

Define the engagement

The decision this service should help you make.

Is there sufficient customer, competitor and operating evidence to justify the next stage?

Useful information to bring

  • Product or service definition and intended customer segment
  • Existing research, customer conversations and source documents
  • Geography, channel, budget and decision deadline

Outputs to agree

  • A source register with observation dates, scope and limitations
  • A market-assessment brief connecting research findings to options and next tests

Define what would change the decision: validated buyer interest, realistic addressable demand, channel margins or project sensitivities. National GDP and bilateral trade are context, not a company sales forecast.

These are proposed scoping examples. The engagement confirms the work, responsibilities, dependencies and fees.

What to prepare

Your research questions, target sector, geographic scope, intended decision and available background information.

Start with a business brief. We will confirm a project-specific information checklist before requesting detailed records.

Use the business preparation checklist

Recurring and ongoing support

Periodic market monitoring, competitor updates and sector briefings can be scoped around agreed indicators and review intervals.

Timing, fees and dependencies

Timing and fees depend on the agreed work, complexity, information availability and external dependencies. Request a proposal for your requirements.

  • Professional fees should identify the included work.
  • Applicable government charges and third-party costs should be identified separately.
  • Client information requirements and review responsibilities should be clear.
  • External approvals and specialist work should be identified where relevant.

Common questions

Does a feasibility study guarantee an investment outcome?

No. It evaluates a defined project using available evidence and assumptions. The report should identify uncertainty, sensitivities and limitations.

Can research include interviews or fieldwork?

Primary research can be included when the scope defines the participants, method, coverage, access requirements and deliverables.

Foreign ownership in Bangladesh

Build a business you can fully own.

100% foreign ownership
Available in eligible sectors

100% foreign ownership is permitted in most sectors in Bangladesh. An eligible business can establish a wholly foreign-owned company without a local equity partner.

Eligibility depends on the business activity. Reserved or restricted activities, sector-specific ownership rules, licences and regulatory approvals must be checked before incorporation or investment.

Do I need a local shareholder?

For an activity eligible for wholly foreign-owned incorporation, a local equity partner is not generally required. The proposed activities and applicable sector rules must be reviewed first. Ownership eligibility does not replace company registration, operating licences or other required approvals.
