Planning Business Operations in Bangladesh

An operating assessment reviews the people, facilities, suppliers, finance processes and controls needed to deliver your business model.

Step 01

Assess the delivery model

Identify what must be delivered locally, what can be coordinated remotely and which activities require external support. Test the assumptions for the intended location.

  • Evaluate facilities, utilities and connectivity needs
  • Map suppliers, logistics and customer service workflows
  • Review staffing requirements and management responsibilities
Step 02

Build finance and administrative controls

Define how transactions, approvals, payroll inputs and corporate records will be managed. Assign owners and review points before volumes increase.

  • Set reporting responsibilities and document access
  • Define payment approvals and reconciliation processes
  • Coordinate compliance tasks with relevant advisers
Step 03

Prepare for disruption and change

Consider how the operation would respond to changes in demand, costs, supply availability or project timing. Review contingencies alongside the base plan.

  • Identify critical dependencies and alternative suppliers
  • Test cash flow under different operating scenarios
  • Agree escalation and business continuity responsibilities

A common question.

What should be assessed before selecting a location?

Foreign ownership in Bangladesh

Build a business you can fully own.

100% foreign ownership
Available in eligible sectors

100% foreign ownership is permitted in most sectors in Bangladesh. An eligible business can establish a wholly foreign-owned company without a local equity partner.

Eligibility depends on the business activity. Reserved or restricted activities, sector-specific ownership rules, licences and regulatory approvals must be checked before incorporation or investment.

Do I need a local shareholder?

For an activity eligible for wholly foreign-owned incorporation, a local equity partner is not generally required. The proposed activities and applicable sector rules must be reviewed first. Ownership eligibility does not replace company registration, operating licences or other required approvals.
