Apparel brands, garment factories and specialist buyers procuring finished clothing, fabrics or application-specific textile products.
The opportunity becomes actionable when a customer need, a feasible delivery model and a tested cost base come together. Existing companies indicate activity, not automatic access to their orders.
Textiles & Apparel / Value-chain segment
Finished clothing, accessories and buyer-linked sourcing.
Start with a defined garment category and the buyer’s product, quality and delivery requirements. Choose whether the business will make finished products, supply accessories or coordinate sourcing; each model has different equipment and working-capital needs.
Contract garment manufacturing, approved accessories supply or buyer-linked sourcing.
BIDA’s January 2025 Heatmap places Core Apparel in Category A. This is investment-promotion prioritisation, not an approval or return forecast.

Fabric production, improved material performance and specialist finishing.
Assess a specific fibre, fabric or finishing capability against downstream buyer demand. An integrated textile mill and a garment sewing operation have different water, energy, chemistry, equipment and technician requirements; model the selected process rather than applying a general garment-cost estimate.
Integrated textile production, performance finishing or a technical partnership supplying qualified garment producers.
Advanced Textiles is Category A in the 2025 BIDA Heatmap. Company textile activity alone does not establish that every facility produces every advanced fabric.

Materials and converted products selected for functional performance.
Begin with the end application and required performance tests. Camping products illustrate a documented adjacent manufacturing project, but finished camping goods are not automatically evidence of a technical-fabric production line. Separate material development, coating, conversion and finished-product assembly.
Application-specific textile conversion, performance testing or development with a committed specialist buyer.
Technical Textiles is Category D in the 2025 Heatmap: policy and capacity development. Its readiness is different from the other two segments.

Foreign ownership in Bangladesh
100% foreign ownership
Available in eligible sectors
100% foreign ownership is permitted in most sectors in Bangladesh. An eligible business can establish a wholly foreign-owned company without a local equity partner.
Eligibility depends on the business activity. Reserved or restricted activities, sector-specific ownership rules, licences and regulatory approvals must be checked before incorporation or investment.
For an activity eligible for wholly foreign-owned incorporation, a local equity partner is not generally required. The proposed activities and applicable sector rules must be reviewed first. Ownership eligibility does not replace company registration, operating licences or other required approvals.
