Strategy & Management Consulting
Mingdao Advisory supports businesses with strategic planning, growth decisions and operational improvement in Bangladesh.
Who this service is for
Leadership teams evaluating growth, organizational change or improvements to business performance.
What the engagement aims to achieve
A defined business problem, an assessment of the available options and an actionable plan with responsibilities and measures of progress.
Define the engagement
The decision this service should help you make.
Which customer, business model or operating change should receive management attention and capital?
Useful information to bring
- Current business model, customer mix and management objectives
- Available sales, cost and operating information
- Decisions already made, open assumptions and stakeholder constraints
Outputs to agree
- A decision framework comparing viable options and evidence gaps
- A prioritised action plan with owners, milestones and agreed measures
Agree measures such as customer conversion, unit economics, operating efficiency or milestone completion. Targets should follow the evidence rather than a standard growth promise.
These are proposed scoping examples. The engagement confirms the work, responsibilities, dependencies and fees.

Deliverables to agree
Your proposal should identify the outputs applicable to the work. Depending on scope, these can include:
- An agreed problem statement, objectives and assessment scope

- Prioritized recommendations and an implementation roadmap
- Responsibilities, milestones and performance measures where included
How the engagement works
- Understand. Discuss your objectives, current position and required support.
- Define. Agree deliverables, responsibilities, dependencies, timing assumptions and fees.
- Prepare. Confirm the information and documents needed for the agreed work.
- Deliver. Coordinate activities and communicate progress or scope changes.
- Review. Record completed work, outstanding actions and any ongoing support.
What to prepare
Your objectives, current business model, available operating information and the decisions you need to make.
Start with a business brief. We will confirm a project-specific information checklist before requesting detailed records.
Recurring and ongoing support
Executive advisory, strategy reviews and implementation monitoring can be scoped as a retainer. Meeting frequency, reporting and decision responsibilities are agreed separately.
Timing, fees and dependencies
Timing and fees depend on the agreed work, complexity, information availability and external dependencies. Request a proposal for your requirements.
- Professional fees should identify the included work.
- Applicable government charges and third-party costs should be identified separately.
- Client information requirements and review responsibilities should be clear.
- External approvals and specialist work should be identified where relevant.
Common questions
How is a strategy project different from market research?
Research develops evidence about the market or customer. Strategy work uses relevant evidence to assess choices, priorities and execution. An engagement can include both.
Can you support implementation?
Implementation support can be included through agreed workstreams, milestones, responsibilities and progress reviews.

Foreign ownership in Bangladesh
Build a business you can fully own.
100% foreign ownership
Available in eligible sectors
100% foreign ownership is permitted in most sectors in Bangladesh. An eligible business can establish a wholly foreign-owned company without a local equity partner.
Eligibility depends on the business activity. Reserved or restricted activities, sector-specific ownership rules, licences and regulatory approvals must be checked before incorporation or investment.
Do I need a local shareholder?
For an activity eligible for wholly foreign-owned incorporation, a local equity partner is not generally required. The proposed activities and applicable sector rules must be reviewed first. Ownership eligibility does not replace company registration, operating licences or other required approvals.
